Patch a supported app¶
A patch is a set of changes applied to an app's installation file. Morphe Manager performs those changes and produces an APK you can install. This repository distributes patches; you supply the original app files.
1. Check your app version¶
Find your app in the app directory. Match its exact version and build number. An app with the same name and a newer version can have different code, so a successful patch is not assumed for another build.
Some apps use a split APK set: a base file plus files for your phone's processor, language or screen. Use the complete set specified on the app page. Missing files can cause installation failures or missing resources.
2. Add the patch source¶
Open Add to Morphe on the device where you use Morphe Manager. Confirm that the source refers to johnneerdael/dutch-applications-patches.
Leave Use pre-release patches off for the stable channel. Development builds come from dev and are intended for testing. Release notes record the bundle versions; the bundle version and the app version are different things.
3. Select and apply patches¶
Select the original APK or complete split set, review the available patches and follow Manager's patching process. Choosing patches explains the differences between hiding ads, stopping collection and skipping a prompt. Required dependencies can be included automatically.
Read the patch report before installing. A failed or incompatible patch is a reason to check the input, rather than to assume part of the protection worked.
4. Install and check the result¶
The patched app has a different signing key from the publisher's app. Android normally cannot install one over the other. Preserve important data before replacing an installation; this guide does not instruct you to clear it. Updates between patched builds also require matching signing keys.
After installation, check startup and the features you use: weather, maps, articles, audio or alerts. Successful playback or the absence of a banner establishes that behaviour; it does not establish which network requests occurred. Read the evidence guide.
